Poster paper submission

The poster sessions feature posters from the invited speakers and a limited number of contributed posters.  The poster sessions are a forum for discussing recent developments in the following areas. Perpendicular magnetic recording at more than 1 Tbpsi (readers, writers, media, servo, tribology, signal processing) Shingled and two-dimensional magnetic recording Heat assisted magnetic recording Bit patterned media recording Alternative recording technologies (MAMR, tape, spintronics, MRAM, STT-RAM) Fundamentals (metrology, tooling, materials, recording physics) The poster sessions will be held consecutive to the oral sessions on Monday 8/11 and Tuesday 8/12.  Poster contributors must send an abstract via email submission to the poster chair Dr. Manfred E. Schabes at manfred.schabes@hgst.com by June 27, 2014. 

The abstract of the poster should be 1-2 pages long and be in a format similar to the digest of the invited papers (instructions are given at digest_submission). Approved poster abstracts will be included in the TMRC Digest Book (but not in the conference proceedings). Poster boards will be 8 feet wide and 4 feet high. The size of each poster is 1097 mm x 1097 mm. The title, authors, and affiliation should be prominently displayed on the poster.  A sign-up sheet for reprint requests should be prepared by the poster authors.  The authors are expected to be available at their posters at predefined time periods that will be staggered to allow discussions with other authors.  The detailed poster schedule will be sent to all authors before the conference.  The authors of the best invited and contributed posters will be recognized by the poster chair with certificates after the last oral session on Wednesday 8/13.
